C4 MB001 T700 Blades. When creating the MB project, C4 designers and engineers set themselves the task of completely updating the line of carbon fins in the mid- to high-end price range.
Among the carbon fins from C4, the most technically revolutionary are the 200 series fins, but for adherents of fins of "traditional" design, the C4 200 fins look too innovative.
And the answer to the classic request was the MB line, which is currently the best interpretation of "traditional" carbon blades in the world of underwater equipment.
In MB blades, the main factor that increases performance is a new lamination (a method of laying carbon fiber in a matrix) called Reverse Parabolic or reverse parabolic curvature. As a result, the zone of maximum bending of the blade is not at the tip of the blade, but at its butt. In essence, this is a further evolution of the C4 blades with the DPC (Double Parabolic Curve) system.
Reverse Parabolic significantly changes the mechanical behavior of the blades under load. In the case of MB, the blade becomes a natural extension of the leg, and not just a mechanical prosthesis.
Also, a unique feature of MB fins is the fact that now you can use stiffer blades, therefore, with greater performance, but with the same load on the legs, which is usually felt with softer blades.
Or, to put it simply, for the C4 MB fin series, the stiffness can be calculated with a “+” sign. Literally, it looks like this: bending the MB 25+ blade in your hands, you will feel the resistance and elasticity inherent in traditional blades with a stiffness of 30, but it will weigh like 25 and you will need the same effort in the water. All parameters will be higher: start from the depth, acceleration to get closer to the fish, cruising speed.
MB blades are equipped with new guide stabilizers (flanges) of a rounded section, which improve blade stabilization and reduce water vortices on the outer sides of the blades. Guide stabilizers were first introduced by C4 back in 1993, and their task has always been to keep water on those parts of the blade that create thrust. MB blades have an unusually large support surface, and for this reason the guide stabilizers are one-piece, from the tips of the blades to the footwell.
MB blades are named after their creator: C4 director Marco Bonfanti, who wanted to personally sign his new project of fins with curved Reverse Parabolic blades.
